Day 05

Deacon Miyata and I went to East Nada Ward (東灘区)to the Saint Nicholas Angels Garden, basically a combination of Nursery School and Kindergarten. We went there to celebrate with them in their “Flower Day,” a derivative/remnant of Flower Sunday which was the original name of Children’s Day back in 1857. And the children were truly angels! They sang and participated in the event with so much energy I was truly delighted!

Deacon Miyata gave a homily to the children, and they listened to his message about honoring and being kind to one another, and how one can demonstrate this by giving flowers.

They ended up giving us a bouquet to show us their appreciation. With a Thank you note!

I put it on the dining table. It’ll keep me cheered up for a number of days!
